How does one of the characters from Of Mice and Men parallel characters you have seen in movies?

  • Choose a character – any major character and explain at least four characteristics of that character (in separate paragraphs)

  • For each characteristic, you must have two textual supports (QUOTES!!) proving that your claim about that character is true

  • After affirming that the character is what he is, explain how that parallels a character you have seen in a movie. Be sure to explain your movie characters in such ways that those who have not seen the movie can understand what you’re saying

  • You can use different movie characters, or you can use as few as one

  • Details on the paper: 3 pages (in other words, 2 ˝ pages minimum); Times New Roman 12pt font or equivalent; double-spaced; proper heading

Each segment of this rubric has multiple layers. One layer consists of the presence of the element, while the other consists of the quality. The content grade (grading your thinking and understanding of the text) is mixed in with the writing grade – especially in the supporting paragraphs. Receiving full points means you have excelled in that area.
