A checklist for the
writing of your research paper:
Have you:
□ Attempted a clear attention grabber in your introduction?
□ Written a clear thesis and made it the last sentence in your
introduction?
□ Included a topic sentence as the first sentence of each supporting
paragraph?
□ Included author page citations every time you used information from
one of your sources?
□ Written a conclusion and ended the paper with a thought to ponder?
□ Had someone else read your paper to make sure it contains no spelling
or grammar mistakes?
□ Included the works cited page as the last page of the paper?
□ Organized the paper according to your outline?
□ Formatted it correctly?
- Double-spaced it? Made the font 12pt.?
- Made sure you don’t have extra spaces between paragraphs?
- Put your name and the page number in right side of the heading
on every page but the first
- Included a proper heading with the following information: your
name, class/period, teacher’s name, the date
- Included a title, centered and beneath the heading
